Beaver ZK-WKA

With kiwi markings applied and titles, New Zealand's first amphibous De Haviiland Beaver is closing in on its first flight since arriving downunder.

ZK-WKA was registered to Auckland Seaplanes on 08 July and it is hoped it will fly from Ardmore tomorrow. Its ultimate base is yet to be decided.

At Ardmore on the morning of 13 July 2015 prior to its first engine runs.

    1. Can you please check the meaning of amphibious please. I'd rather not have to explain it to someone who is criticizing someone else's correct use of the word!

  3. Goodness me.....from the Dictionary;
    living or able to live both on land and in water; belonging to both land and water.

    Also, amphibian. capable of operating on both land and water: amphibious vehicles.

    Probably means the first Beaver in NZ able to take-off from water and land on land and vice-versa.
